Very early planning — we’re finding out who’s interested.

Network operators, at sea

A NOG.
On a cruise.
Out of Sydney.

A few days of network engineering talks, catching up with people you know, and meeting the people behind the networks you don’t.

Register your interest

Same sort of conversations.
A bit more sea air.

CruiseNOG is an idea for a network operators group conference aboard a cruise departing Sydney. If you build, run, or look after networks, you’re who we have in mind.

We’d like to bring together technical sessions and plenty of time to talk between them — about routing, peering, things that broke, and things that worked.

And if we happen to float above a subsea cable, we can call it a site visit. No diving required.

There’s no year, ship, itinerary, programme, or price set yet. Expressions of interest will help us see whether there’s enough appetite to put a sailing together.

Who’s putting this together?

Current planning is being done by John MacFadyen. Feel free to reach out on Beer4Peer Slack, or email hello@cruisenog.net.

If there’s enough interest, a not-for-profit organisation will be created to manage CruiseNOG going forward. That organisation hasn’t been formed yet.
